Lanthanum-tungsten electrode is the electrode of tungsten added with 1~2% of La203. The power of its electronic transgression is 2.7-2.8ev, bearing the features similar and closest to those of the thorium-tungsten electrode and being able to replace the latter without changing any technical procedures or welding conditions and its arc derivation function is even superior to that of the latter with improved electricity arc features and burn spoilage endurance used with small and medium currents. Lanthanum-tungsten electrode is the substitution product of thorium-tungsten electrode because of its freedom from radioactivity. Its other advantage is its endurance of high current and low burn spoilage rate.
